NWAA looks for opportunities with Canadian deal

THE North West Aerospace Alliance (NWAA), which supports firms involved in the aero industry, has signed a partnership agreement with its counterpart in Montreal, Canada.
Aéro Montréal supports the industry in Quebec, which has the second-largest density of aerospace jobs in the world, with one in 190 Quebecers working in the aerospace industry. The figure is higher in Montreal where one in 95 work in the sector.
Under the terms of the deal, struck at the Farnborough International Airshow, the two bodies will share information and support each other’s activities.
Aerospace in the North West contributes £3.6bn to the UK economy, with one in five aerospace jobs in the UK located in the region, according to the NWAA.
Chief executive Martin Wright said: “The North West Aerospace Alliance has developed significant expertise in the development and shaping of aerospace supply chains and we are pleased to announce this collaborative agreement with Aéro Montréal. We are both committed to a collaborative approach and look forward to developing a close working relationship to the benefit of both our organisations.”
Aéro Montréal has already signed similar agreements with aerospace bodies in France, Belgium, Germany and Poland.
