Property round up: Laserline off to Spectrum & Turley’s Revolution & more

URBAN Waterside has sold a unit at Spectrum Business Park to Laserline Dies.

The specialist supplier to the packaging sector is moving to the 7,750 sq ft Unit 5 at Spectrum on Birdhall Lane, Cheadle, from its current home on Newby Road Industrial Estate, Hazel Grove.

The sale of the premises to Laserline was undertaken by Freddie Oakey, surveyor at the Manchester office of real estate advisors Colliers International on behalf of Urban Waterside.

Spectrum Business Park is currently home to Cheadle Heath police station, and will accommodate more new business space, in excess of 150 homes, a Metrolink station and large areas of open space.

TURLEY Associates has secured planning permission for developer Evander Properties to build two sheds on a 25-acre site at the Revolution, part of Buckshaw Village, Chorley.

The first, of 123,500 sq ft, has been pre-let to the Royal Mail’s Parcelforce Worldwide. Work is due to be completed in September 2013. The second unit will be 182,500 sq ft but construction will not start until a tenant has been secured.

Andrew Bickerdike, a senior planner in Turley Associates’ Manchester office, said: “This is a significant planning permission for Evander Properties and Buckshaw Village, delivering high quality employment accommodation and providing a significant jobs boost to the town.

“The original planning application was made in September 2011 and, working closely with the council has been amended to reflect Parcelforce’s accommodation requirements in order to bring this major new employer to Chorley.”
