Appointments: Cobbetts; Linder Myers promotes; Pannone & more

LAW firm Cobbetts has appointed former Insolvency Service investigator Mark Baldwin to its litigation team in Manchester.

Jon Hainey, head of litigation at Cobbetts’ Manchester office, said: “Mark has extensive experience of working on high-profile business fraud cases from his time with the Insolvency Service, so I am confident he will be a significant asset to the team.

LAW firm Linder Myers has promoted wills and trusts expert Liz Hall to its equity partnership.

Based in the firm’s office at Lytham, Lancashire, she joined Linder Myers in 2009.

The firm has also promoted two solicitors to associate, personal injury specialist Malcolm Lewis and Joanne Parsons, an expert in residential conveyancing.

Senior partner Bernard Seymour said: “The promotions are well deserved and further boost Linder Myers’ offer as we continue to grow the firm.”

MANCHESTER law firm Pannone has appointed Simran Foote as head of HR.

She joins from national firm Irwin Mitchell where she was head of HR and training.

Originally a chartered accountant Simran has 15 years of HR experience in law firms and has also worked for Addleshaw Goddard.

She said: “I am delighted to join Pannone which has a fantastic reputation in the marketplace for being an employer that really cares about developing the careers of its people.”

MANCHESTER councillor Neil Swannick has been reappointed as the Chair of Greater Manchester Waste Disposal Authority (GMWDA).

He was first elected in 2001 and says: “I am looking forward to another year of challenges and continuing the ambitious, yet achievable targets we have set of 50% recycling and composting and 75% landfill diversion.  It is only with residents’ support that we can reach our aim of zero waste to landfill.”

SURVEYOR Steve Manifold has left Bury property consultancy Nolan Redshaw to join Knight Frank’s North West logistics and industrial team.

Rob Taylor, who heads the logistics and industrial team at Knight Frank said: “Steve is well known in the industry and has excellent knowledge and experience within the industrial sector and will be a great attribute to our team.”

ACCOUNTANTS and business advisers Champion has appointed 18-year-old Becci Martin to its marketing department.

Based in Worsley, Salford, Miss Martin from Little Hulton will be involved in event management support and the administration of customer relationship campaigns across all five of the firm’s offices.
