Rapid growth at security specialist

ROCHDALE security equipment specialist Rutledge Integrated Systems (RIS) has reported a surge in profits and sales over the past year.

The business, which designs and installs CCTV, access control and intruder alarm systems, said it had seen a tenfold increase in profits to £124,000 on sales of £1.2m, up from around £300,000.

Staff numbers have increased from three to 10 and four more should be hired this year.

Some of the growth has come from overseas security contracts for clients in Europe and the Caribbean.

Director Graeme Oliver said: “The economy continues to present major challenges, not least to some of our core markets such as construction and retail, but the fact that we have achieved significant growth in sales, profits and employee numbers confirms the quality and reputation of our systems and service.”

The business was founded four years ago by Andy Rutledge.
