Developer plans student rooms at Odeon site
PLANS have been submitted to build student accommodation at the former Odeon cinema site on Liverpool’s London Road.
The cinema, which dated back to 1934, was demolished last year and the land has been earmarked for student rooms, a hotel, a mixed-use development, or offices.
Robert Cooper has applied for permission to build a block with 118 student rooms at the site. A company name is not given in the application details.
Day Architectural Design at Kirkby Lonsdale, Lancashire, is handling the application but could not be reached for comment.
The planning application was lodged with Liverpool City Council on October 5. Knight Frank was handling the sale of the freehold.
