NORTH West logistics provider Suttons has appointed Graeme Rooney as managing director of its international division.
Widnes-based Suttons International has operations in the Americas, Europe the Middle East and Asia. Mr Rooney, who was previously director for Asia and the Middle East, will be based at the company’s Asian HQ in Singapore.
Chief executive John Sutton said: “Graeme’s appointment comes at an exciting stage in the group’s development. We have grown by 40% in the last two years and Asia and the Middle East have been key to that growth.
“We are confident Graeme can build on his successes and deliver sustainable growth and maintain the high levels of quality of service that our customers have come to expect from Suttons.”

SALE-based Preferred Spaces has made three new appointments on the back of continued business growth.
The fit-out company has recruited Martin Paladino as an associate director to lead its utilities division. He joins from Europa Facilities Management where he was account manager for its account with FTSE 100 company United Utilities. Jeremy Cox has been promoted to construction director following six years at Preferred as senior project manager. He is currently overseeing the Coronation Street project for ITV at MediaCity and also various football club retail projects.
Kim Jones has also been recruited as small works estimator/co-ordinator and manages projects with a value up to £100,000 also assisting with the Quantity Surveying on the Coronation Street project.

MANCHESTER commercial law firm Turner Parkinson has boosted its insolvency team with the appointment of corporate recovery specialist Mark Davies as a partner.
Mr Davies was previously a partner at JMW Solicitors and, prior to that, at DWF.
Head of insolvency Mark Lund said: “Mark’s appointment reflects our on-going commitment to offering a partner led service and his experience will bolster what is already a strong team.”

HUGH Jones Solicitors, the niche Salford law firm specialising in Court of Protection work, has added two more solicitors to its ranks.
The newcomers are Rebecca Brown and Jennifer Kerns, and like founder Hugh Jones, previously worked at Manchester-based Pannone. The firm now has six staff.
Mr Jones said:“The firm is developing extremely fast with more and more clients being attracted to the practice. In personnel terms, we hope to announce even further appointments in the coming months.”

MANCHESTER-based Cloud computing firm ANS Group has appointed two new board directors.
Paul Shannon and Steven Bomberg, both of whom are existing heads of service within the company, will become managed services director and professional services director respectively.
Shannon joined ANS Group four years ago and has 15 years experience in the IT industry having started as a web developer.
Bomberg joined the business in 2010 following the acquisition of Alpha Business Computers and has overseen some of ANS Group’s largest projects.
Managing director Paul Sweeney said: “Paul and Steven have proved their worth over the last 12 months as guests at the top table and I’m delighted to welcome them as permanent members of the board. Our culture of drive and passion are of uncompromising importance to ANS and the guys have time and time again demonstrated these values.”

PLANNING consultancy NJL has appointed a new executive team to manage the business, based in Manchester.
Chris Jones, Paul Smith and Mark Saunders along with the managing partner, Nick Lee, will handle the firm’s long term growth.
Mr Lee said: “This a further step in our own evolution as a strong commercially aware planning and development practice. We are working on further client partnering arrangements to deliver planning consents and development projects over the long term, rather than quick fix but unsuitable solutions. This team will ensure we focus on taking the business forward on a long term sustained basis.”
