Appointments: New partners for Mazars; Hempsons & more

ACCOUNTANCY firm Mazars has made two new hires to its Manchster team, with Neil Barton joining as an audit partner and Dave Jennings as a tax investigations and employer solutions director covering the North.

Mr Barton, who has worked for KPMG in  Toronto, Canada, has extensive experience in the audit and accountancy field and has worked most recently at BDO.

Dave Jennings joins Mazars from Grant Thornton and is an experienced tax and PAYE specialist having also worked as a fully trained senior inspector of taxes at HM Revenue & Customs for 19 years.

HEMPSONS, the law firm specialising in health and social care, has promoted of four staff at its Manchester office based at City Tower.
 
Simeon Bower, who specialises in healthcare litigation, has been promoted to partner along with John Sharples who is the first barrister to have been made a partner at the firm.
 
Mr Sharples said: “It’s an honour to be the first barrister in Hempsons’ history to be made a partner and I look forward to the challenges in my new role.
 
Promotions to associate were rewarded to Jennie Chapman who specialises in clinical negligence and Lukman Patel in the real estate team.

CERBERUS, Manchster-based debt recovery and asset management services provider, has appointed Robbie Bamping as receivables manager.

Mr Bamping joins from inolvency and debt advisory firm Duff & Phelps in Manchester, where he managed the receivables management division.

Christine Greenhalgh, director of Cerberus Receivables Management said: “We are delighted to expand our team with a very experienced individual who will be able to help us maintain our momentum and meet the further growth we have forecasted.”

AA Projects, the management and property consultancy, has appointed Justin Myall as a director and head of its new commercial division.

Mr Myall, who is based in the firm’s Manchester office, will focus on building a team for private sector projects.

He said: “The opportunity to create and lead a new division with a team I have hand-picked based on their knowledge and expertise was something that I could not overlook.”
