Appointments: Lawyer Donaldson heads to Rushmoor Law; Vivark & more

FORMER Squire Sanders commercial and intellectual property partner Peter Donaldson has left to join former colleague Andrew West at his new practice, Rushmoor Law.
Mr West a former partner in Hammonmds, which then became Squire Sanders, founded Rushmoor Law in Hale in 2012, commented: “I am delighted to welcome Peter. I know from having worked with him for 10 years that he will bring both technical and commercial expertise to the team.
“Peter and I both recognise a demand from a growing number of clients for a more flexible and cost effective legal service, particularly in the areas of commercial, IP, IT and data privacy, where we tend to specialise.
“The focus is very much on continuing to offer quality niche advice that a client would expect from a city or national firm, but with a more flexible approach and at a more competitive price.”

MERSEYSIDE repair and maintenance company Vivark. which is part of the First Ark Group and includes Knowsley Housing Trust. has appointed Darren Smith as director of delivery.
Mr Smith, who lives in Lancashire, brings a wealth of experience in financial and operational management, both within the social housing and private business sectors.
In his new role he will be working to instil a more commercial focus to Vivark while ensuring its core values as a social enterprise are upheld.
He said: “I am looking forward to establishing Vivark as one of the market leaders in delivering an excellent service that provides value for money and embraces social enterprise. It’s important we work as a team to improve delivery in our local communities while growing the business to offer services to new clients.”

BLACKBURN-based Training 2000 has made two hires to widen its sector offering.
It has appointed Neil Gutteridge to the position of director of enterprise and Martin Bevan as strategic account manager, food and drink – both newly-created roles.
Mr Gutteridge, who worked at Rolls-Royce plc for 37 years, will be responsible for building customer relationships and forging partnerships with businesses across the country.
Working under the direction of Mr Gutteridge, Mr Bevan (48), from Durham, is tasked with targeting opportunities within the £76bn food and drink sector which employs around 400,000 people in the UK.
