Good news for K3 as retailers start to invest

BUSINESS software supplier K3 Business Technology has won a new contract and says it is starting to see a pick-up in spend by retailers.
The Salford Quays company, which provides and supports enterprise resource planning software, hosting and managed services to the supply chain industry, has received an order, worth up to £2m for its Microsoft-based ‘Gemstone’ AX product.
The new order, from an un-named garden centre chain is the fourth for Gemstone AX which K3 has secured over the last two months or so and the full potential value of these four new wins totals around £8m, if fully implemented.
Andy Makeham, chief executive, of K3, said: “We are seeing encouraging signs of an improvement in retail technology spend, although customers are typically choosing to spend in stages, and some high profile retail name have selected our new Gemstone AX solution in recent months.
“This latest order win with a national garden centre chain is further evidence of the uptick in retail technology spending and increasing traction for our new solution, which we are enriching with our own IP to give it a dominant market position in the retail and wholesale sectors.”
