Inspired Energy powers ahead

INSPIRED Energy, the Preston company which provides energy procurement services to business, saw growth in both SME and corporate markets last year.

In a trading update for the year to December it said pre-tax profits, excluding restructuring and refinance costs, will be in line with market expectations.

Revenues should be ahead at £7.6m, driven by growth in its EnergiSave division, particularly in the last quarter. EnergiSave provides SMEs with energy contracts from a variety of suppliers.

Inspired continued to invest in this division and expects it to make a “significant contribution” to growth and profitability in the current year.  The order book of Inspired corporate division rose 24% from £8.9m to £11m.

At the year end

Managing director Janet Thornton said: “I am proud of the group’s achievements over the past year which has seen a significant increase in business across the UK. Our core corporate division continues to perform very well and benefits from a very strong contracted order book in excess of £11m, which is testament to the hard work of the team which has delivered strong growth.

“EnergiSave, our new growth engine which target SMEs, has outperformed our initial expectations and we are seeing accelerated growth continuing into the new year on this now strong platform of new customers.”
