Investment bank Altium expands international reach

New route will connect Manchester with the Israeli city of Tel Aviv

INVESTMENT bank Altium has extended its international reach with the opening of an office in Israel.

The bank, which has its headquarters in Manchester, has opened in Tel Aviv, which becomes its 16th international office.

The team there is led by managing director Alexander Grünwald,  supported by two senior advisers, Gabriel Perel and Ronen Melnik.

Both are well-connected, experienced investors and fund manager. Gabriel Perel co-founded Wanaka Capital in 2007, a mid-tech Israeli VC fund, while Mr Melnik  is managing partner of Wanaka Capital.

Alexander Grünwald, managing director at Altium, said: “I’m pleased to welcome Gabriel Perel and Ronen Melnik to Altium. With them, we gain profound knowledge of the Israeli market and strong expertise in various sectors, particularly technology.

“Given the recent M&A boom in Israel, its focus on the high-tech sector and our leading position in the mid-market internet and technology space in Western Europe and the USA, it’s a logical consequence for us to become active in this market.”
