Asda rolls out click and collect service

SUPERMARKET group Asda  is introducing a same-day click and collect servce at 37  of its North West stores.

The retailer has launched the project in 250 stores nationwide, and this is thought to be the widest roll-out of of the service by a UK supermarket.

The regional stores are at: Ashton; Manchester Eastlands; Harpurhey; Horwich; Hulme; Hyde; Pilsworth; Radcliffe; Shaw; Stockport; Swinton; Trafford Park; Aintree; Birchwood; Bootle; Ellesmere Port; Hunts Cross; Huyton; Runcorn; Sefton Park; Widnes; Accrington; Barrow; Blackpool; Carlisle; Clayton Green; Colne; Fleetwood; Fulwood; Kendal; Lancaster; Leigh; Rawtenstall; Skelmersdale; Southport; Wigan and Workington.

From today, customers who order their grocery shopping online by 1pm will now be able to collect orders from these stores after 4pm. The service will be free to all customers for a limited time.
 
Saeed Anslow, development director, e-Commerce at Asda said: “Customers always tell us they want are ways to make shopping more convenient. For some, that means having the flexibility to collect their shopping as quickly as possible, at a time that suits them when they are out and about.

“The launch of our same day Click and Collect service makes shopping with us easier than ever– meaning Asda customers can fit their shopping in between work, chauffeuring the kids around and the hundreds of other jobs they need to get done in a day.”
 
Asda said 120 of the new same day collection sites will be drive through facilities, meaning customers can collect their shopping without even having to get out of their car.
