Lancs leisure business snaps-up Settle hotel

LANCASHIRE pub and hotel company James’ Places Group has bought a site in North Yorkshire.

The family-owned Clitheroe firm has snapped up the Falcon Manor Hotel, a Grade II-listed Yorkshire Dales property in Settle, for more than £550,000.

Its previous owners, Remove Code, tried to get planning permission to turn the hotel into ten residential apartments but had its plans turned down by the local authority, Craven District Council.

The new owner is James Warburton, who owns the Lancashire-headquartered James’ Places Group. Its other properties include Mitton Hall and Eaves Hall in the Ribble Valley and The Emporium in Clitheroe and the Shireburn Arms and Waddington Arms pubs.

Peter Bean, director of hotels, Colliers International, which negotiated the sale, said: “The Falcon Manor is a magnificent eye-catching Jacobean style property serving the bustling market and tourist town of Settle, as well as the wider Dales community.

“The hotel has two bars, a function restaurant and 15 en-suite letting bedrooms, as well as lovely grounds with plenty of parking, making this hotel ideal as a base for touring the Dales.”
