Appointments: New starters at Ainscough, Mace & Jones and Peel’s new Holiday Inn

AINSCOUGH Crane Hire has appointed three new members to its sales and marketing team.

Victoria Tonge is the Wigan-based firm’s new marketing manager, responsible for advertising, internal communications and PR.

The company’s sales team has been strengthened with the appointments of John Lewis, sales manager for the South West region, and Julian Dyer, heavy crane sales manager for the UK South region.

Ainscough is the UK’s largest crane hire specialist with a fleet of more than 500 cranes, operating from depots across the country.

NORTH West law firm Mace & Jones has strengthened its employment law team with the appointment of a new solicitor.

Matthew Smith, 28, joins the Liverpool office, where he will be advising clients nationwide on tackling all legal aspects of work relationships.

Smith graduated from Leeds University and the College of Law in Chester before joining Wirral firm Lees Solicitors as a trainee, where he subsequently stayed for five years.

He said: “I joined Mace & Jones as I wanted to specialise in employment law and the team here has a great reputation across the North West and beyond. I will get the best possible career development here and am looking forward to working on high profile accounts.”

BOLTON-based IT solutions specialist, Imerja, has appointed non-executive simon beard imerjadirector Simon Beard.

Beard will help Imerja to achieve a 40% growth target for its managed services business which has been the subject of “considerable investment” over the past twelve months.

Managing director Ian Jackson said: “We are very optimistic about the next 12 to 36 months. Using Simon’s expertise we will push our managed service offering and the business as a whole to the next level of growth and profitability. We also plan to invest heavily in our sales and engineering teams, and we are also considering acquisition opportunities.”

Beard is a non-executive director and consultant to five North West businesses. He previously held the role of chief finance officer at Preston North End Football Club and was involved in the sale of Paramount Foods.

tecmarkMANCHESTER digital marketing agency Tecmark has added three new members of staff to its growing technical team.

The firm, which handles the design, development and delivery of applications for the the iPhone, iPad and Android Smartphones, is keen to expand its development of applications and search engine optimisation services.

Gareth Chadwick joins as client services manager while Adrian Wu and Alex Kelbas take on iPhone developer roles and will create and deliver bespoke apps for individual clients.

The three new recruits take the total number of staff to 11. Turnover at the business stands at £750,000 and is forecast to reach £1.2m by the end of the financial year in March.

DAVE Lythall has joined the Holiday Inn Manchester at MediaCity, Salford Quays as head chef. 

He was previously executive sous chef at the Hilton hotel in Manchester.

Hotel operator Peel Holdings said he had worked in award-winning restaurants in Cheshire, Liverpool and Manchester such as The Restaurant Bar and Grill, City Inn and Room.
