Aldi signs up for Wirral store

ALDI is set to open an 18,084sq ft store at Wallasey on the Wirral.

The Derwent Group has exchanged contracts with the retailer to open the store at its Junction 1 Retail Park at Bidston Moss.

Aldi will join existing retailers including Pets at Home, Home  Bargains, B&Q, Carpetright and Halfords. The new store will open in spring

James Maule-Ffinch, senior asset manager at Derwent said: “Aldi’s commitment to Junction 1 Retail Park is great news and we’re confident that, when open, the store will significantly increase footfall. We’re also in detailed negotiations with two further operators soon to be announced.”

Junction 1 Retail Park is prominently located adjacent to Junction 1 of the M53 motorway, which links to Liverpool and the Wallasey Tunnel.

The Park has 63,000 vehicles passing daily in clear view of the M53 motorway and is close to a large 24 hour Tesco Extra store. There are 867 free car-parking spaces available on site.

Junction 1 Retail Park units range in size from 7,225sq ft to 10,509sq ft and Petch & Co (Chris Petch) acts as letting agent for The Derwent Group and has a further two units under offer with one unit remaining. Lamb & Swift (Nick Swift) acted for Aldi.
