United finds a good fit with Heroes

MANCHESTER United is stepping out with a new partner after signing a deal with a new luxury designer footwear brand.

The Reds have agreed a “multi-year global partnership” with Italian company Heroes, a Milan-based business which was launched last year. Financial terms were not released.

As part of the agreement, Heroes will exclusively produce a collection of high quality lifestyle Manchester United shoes. In addition to this, Manchester United’s first team players and coaches will wear the brand’s formal shoes when on official club duty.

Manchester United Group managing director Richard Arnold said: “Football is all about teamwork and to play like a team it’s important to look like a team. Our partnership with Heroes will not only provide our first team squad with well-designed and well-made formal shoes, it will also allow our loyal fan base to be included in that team spirit by wearing the same  brand worn by our players.

“As a new and innovative luxury brand, Heroes has the ability to offer our fans original and exciting products that will allow them to express their support for the club in ways they haven’t been able to before.”

Alfredo D’Acchioli, chairman of the supervisory board of German company Da Vinci Luxury AG, the parent company ofg Heroes, said: “Our partnership with Manchester United is a dream come true and we are thrilled to be working with the world renowned sports club.

“This is the first partnership of its kind for Heroes and we are confident that Manchester United’s enthusiastic fans will be the ideal audience for the launch of our Heroes brand. We look forward to huge success.”

Heroes aims to open 12 stores in Milan, Paris, New York, Shanghai, Hong Kong, Singapore, Tokyo, Dubai, Dallas and Los Angeles.
