Accountancy body reveals award winners

David Gill of Preston-based acountancy firm Moore & Smalley has been given a lifetime achievement award by the North West Society of Chartered Accountants.
The award was one of several handed out at a prize ceremony last week where Cassons was named as accountancy firm of the year, Wayne Wild of WEC Group was named business person of the year and SHP was named business of the year.
Burnley-based Panaz won the Innovation award and Joanne Broadbery of Mitie Group was named Rising Star.
Mark Sykes, President of the North West Society of Chartered Accountants, said: “All of the award winners have demonstrated the type of entrepreneurial spirit that is required to deliver economic growth.
“I am delighted to be able to celebrate the vital role that chartered accountants play in helping businesses to realise their ambitions and the important contribution that local firms are making to both the regional and national economy.
