Jobs go as Cheshire plasterer fails

A CHESHIRE plastering business has fallen into administration with the loss of 14 jobs.

Supyk Plastering Systems, based in Styal, was formed by Peter Supyk in 1985, and was said to be one of the largest plastering and drylining contractors in the North West, with clients including Galliford Try, Wimpey Homes and Woodrow Taylor.

Chris Ratten and Jeremy Woodside of the accountancy firm RSM Tenon were appointed to the business on December 8.

They said it had been a victim of the downturn in the construction sector.

Mr Ratten said: “The story of Supyk Plastering Systems is one that has been repeated a great deal over the last two years, as the construction sector has faced the brunt of the recession.

“We are working to resolve the outstanding contractual debts – the only material assets of the company. When these debts are recovered, we can work out the outcome for the outstanding creditors.”

The company ceased trading on November 30, when all 14 employees were made redundant.
