E&Y partner Oldfield to leave

SIMON Oldfield, corporate partner at Ernst & Young in the North West, has announced his departure from the firm next month.

Mr Oldfield, who is currently chairman of professional services umbrella group pro.manchester, has been with E&Y for 20 years.

He is understood to be looking at entering industry as a finance director and is also looking at a number of non-executive roles – he is already on the board of The Royal Northern Colleage of Music.

His colleague, transaction services specialist Steve Smith recently departed from the firm, and has become non-executive chairman of Warrington-based business and recruitment consultancy Psycuity.
