Pro.Manchester gets interim chief

Pro•Manchester has appointed board member Robert Sheffrin as an interim manager while it continues its search for a chief executive.

The organisation is looking for a permanent replacement for former chief executive, Daniel Mouawad, who earlier this year took up a secondment with UK Trade and Investment in Mumbai.

Mr Sheffrin, who is a director of Braemar Securities, will provide management support to staff and help to deliver the organisation’s action plan which is geared towards generating business development opportunities for members.

Chairman Simon Oldfield said: “As treasurer and board member, Robert has an intimate understanding of our organisation and is well placed to oversee our ongoing activity.

“His proven track record in the sector includes high profile positions such as former president of the Manchester Society of Chartered Accountants and regional business advisor on behalf of the NWDA and UKTI.”

Mr Sheffrin said: “We are in the middle of delivering an incredibly exciting programme, having already attracted speakers such as the governor of the Bank of England and the head of external affairs for the BBC at MediaCity.”
