Stockport hosts ‘meet the buyer’ event

STOCKPORT Council is inviting local businesses to pitch for work from some of the town’s biggest public and private sector organisations at a ‘Meet the Buyer’ event on Thursday, March 3.

The event will be the fourth annual Meet the Buyer events held by the council as part of its Stockport Boost initiative. Firms will be given ten-minute slots to pitch companies looking for a range of products and services from catering to bigger commercial contracts.

The organisations who have pledged to send buyers to the event include: adidas, Authentic Foods, MAN Diesel, SAS Daniels, BSkyB, Solutions SK, Stockport Council, Stockport Homes, and the Stockport NHS Foundation Trust.

Councillor Kevin Hogg, executive member for regeneration at Stockport Council, said: “Supporting small businesses has been central to the Stockport Boost initiative. The Meet the Buyer events are an excellent opportunity for smaller businesses to talk directly to those in a position to buy their products or services.”

Interested parties need to pre-book appointments and check the goods or service they offer are required by the buying team they are targeting.
