Masterchef’s Wallace celebrates local food

MASTERCHEF presenter Gregg Wallace is to host an evening focused on Lancashire food and produce at the Stanley House Hotel in Mellor.

Mr Wallace will team up with Steven Smith, head chef at the hotel’s Cassis restaurant, to treat 50 guests to a gourmet evening.

The three-course menu will feature Lancashire specialities inspired by the Ribble Valley, including chicken with mushrooms and garlic foam and a strawberry jelly dessert with clotted cream.

Mr Wallace will give a commentary on the regional ingredients used in each of the dishes during dinner and afterwards will take part in a question and answer session with guests.

He said: I’m looking forward to returning to Cassis again and working alongside Steven on what I hope will be a memorable night for all the guests.

“Lancashire is home to some very fine food producers and I know the seasonal ingredients will be second to none.”

Mr Wallace presents BBC’s Masterchef and Saturday Kitchen programmes and also regularly writes for Good Food and Olive magazines.
