CHESHIRE residential property developer Arley Homes is continiong its expansion drive into Lancashire.

It has won planning permission for a 1.25 acre site in Fulwood, Preston, for The Maples, a development of 13 luxury four and five bedroom houses.

The site has been bought from a private owner for an undisclosed sum. Construction is due to start immediately, with the development being launched for sale and reservations taken from spring 2011.

The Maples is Warrinton-based Arley’s first in Preston, and its third in Lancashire – ist other sites are The Meadows at Coppull near Chorley and The Birches at Charnock Richard.

Managing director John Cosgrave said: “We have remained acquisitive during the last year thanks to a combination of a supportive banking partner and robust property sales.

“This time last year we identified Lancashire as an area into which we wanted to expand and so we are particularly pleased to have secured our third successful planning approval in the county in 12 months.

“Our land team is always on the look out for good opportunities and has once again done a great job in identifying and negotiating this site. The Maples is in an exceptional location that is ideal for families, with an attractive rural aspect and also excellent links into the city and across the region.”
