40% of Vision+Media staff redundant

DIGITAL and creative support agency Vision+Media has confirmed that 14, or 40%, of its 35 staff will be made redundant by the end of March.
The decision follows a two-month consultation over the future of 25 jobs at the Salford-based agency.
It said the move paved the way for its role as part of Creative England a new body which will replace Vision+Media and eight other agencies in October with three regional ‘hubs’. The northern hub will be in Greater Manchester.
Chief Executive, Paul Taylor said: “Over the past four years, Vision+Media has built a talented and dedicated team, and having to lose any of them is difficult but that is the reality of where we are. Much of our current funding will disappear at the end of this financial year.
“This down-sizing of the company, will allow us to continue beyond April 1 and gives us the flexibility to then re-shape later in the year in to the new role within Creative England. It is a difficult process but we are encouraged that the government recognises the importance of continuing focussed support for the wealth of creative talent, culture and enterprise that exists outside of London.”
