Drivers Jonas gets Preston Uni leisure gig

THE University of Central Lancashire has appointed property consultancy Drivers Jonas to manage the construction of an £11m leisure facility.

The 6,000 sq m development, which is due for completion toward the end of next year, is being built on the university’s main campus site in Preston city centre. The new scheme will include a fitness suite, studios, sports hall and pre-school nursery.

DJ’s consultant team will develop the design for the scheme and shortlist contractors prior to tender later in the year.

Will Nightingale, of Drivers Jonas, said: “This is a major development which will greatly enhance the university’s offering to both staff and students. Our aim is to ensure that the project is delivered on-time and within budget while causing the least possible interruption to campus life.”
