Salter wins lifetime achievement award

ROB Salter, the former managing partner of accountancy firm Moore & Smalley, won a lifetime achievement award at last night’s Lancashire Business Awards.
Mr Salter joined Moore and Smalley in 1964 and became the firm’s youngest ever partner in 1974.
He said: “I have had a fabulous time with Moore and Smalley and have been privileged to work with some great clients and people over the last four and half decades. To receive this award tonight is a proud moment.”
Jeremy Gorick, who sold Preston-based chemical company Liquid Plastics earlier this year, walked away with the gong for Entrepreneur of the Year.
The awards are organised by private sector lobbying and networking group Downtown Preston and Business and winners are decided by an online vote.
Frank McKenna, chairman of DPIB, said: “These awards show that Lancashire has so much to offer, and is proof that the area is competing well against the larger city regions.”
Around 150 guests attended the awards ceremony at the Stanley House Hotel in Mellor, which were compered and presented by former BBC journalist Jim Hancock.
Other winners were:

Property Professional of the Year: Mick Goode of Croft Goode
Best Property Advisor: Chris Scott of DWF
