Busmaker Optare scores £2.5m Liverpool deal

BLACKBURN-based busmaker Optare has announced that it has won a £2.5m-plus contract to supply Merseyside operator Cumfybus with 13 ot its Hybrid Solo buses.

The purchases were made with the support of the Government’s Green Bus Fund, and will be used on Cumfybus’s high-frequency routes through Liverpool city centre.

The buses will be delivered to the company later this year.

Jim Sumner, CEO of Optare, said: “This is further great news for Optare as its Green Bus technology rolls out in the UK in another high-profile city operation.”
