Mantra aims to get people fit for work

A NORTH West training company, which specialises in the automotive and logistics sector, has won a contract to help victims of the recession back into work.

Mantra Learning, which is based in Middleton and also has a centre in Warrington, is heading a collaboration of eight North West training provider partners, as part of the Learning and Skills Council’s £100m Response to Redundancy programme.

Mantra, which has 70 staff, has created a brand called The Job Gym, which offers personalised, local training and education support programmes designed to get people back into work quickly.

Training worth up to £1,500 will be made available to each individual or company concerned.

Mantra’s executive director Mark Currie said: “We’re confident that by working in conjunction with some of the most respected training companies in the North West, we can pool our collective and complementary skills to devise and deliver people-focused solutions that address the labour requirements for newly redundant people in our region, and help individuals back to economic independence.”
