NWDA launches £5m mentoring service

SMALL business bosses are being urged to tap into a new mentoring service.

The Northwest Regional Development Agency has launched the £4.9m mentoring programme which is designed to offer senior managers of small and micro-businesses access to free mentoring to help them grow their business.

The three-year programme is part of the ‘solutions for business’ portfolio, part of the government’s simplified package of business support products.

Steven Broomhead, chief executive at the NWDA said: “Mentoring is a key element of the agency’s Leadership & Management Framework for Action.

“We understand that by helping businesses to invest in the development of their leaders and managers we can help create robust and competitive businesses that will ultimately contribute significantly to the economic success of England’s North West.”

One-to-one mentoring will start this month for small businesses that have been trading for more than a year and have an annual turnover of less than £2m.
