Appointments: Faulkner joins Barclays; Dean’s role at TEB; Fluid boosts team

BARCLAYS Commercial Bank has strengthened its Manchester team by appointing Richard Faulkner as relationship director for the telecoms, media and technology (TMT) sectors across the North.

Richard joins Barclays from Lloyds Banking Group, where he was previously an area director and a business development director within Bank of Scotland.

He said, “The region has a rich variety of opportunities in the digital and creative industries and with Manchester boasting the largest media hub outside of London,

“I am relishing the challenge of driving forward the larger business profile of Barclays in these thriving sectors.  The thing that impresses me most about Barclays is that the customer comes first and that is at the heart of everything the Bank does.”

Michael Hartig, commercial director at Barclays Commercial Bank and head of the Manchester team added: “This new appointment, together with the recent announcement of our move to Spinningfields later in the year, reinforce our confidence in the business opportunities within the area and our desire to support our customers with a specialist industry sector approach.”

ALAN Dean has been appointed as regional spokesman for The Entrepreneurs Board.

Mr Dean,a former director of investment bank N M Rothschild, has a wealth of business experience at a senior level.

He has worked on the boards of a diverse range of organisations: as chief executive at both the N Brown Group, the listed home shopping company, and the Halle Orchestra, and as a director of North West Water. He is also a highly experienced non-executive director and chairman.

The Entrepreneurs Board is a peer group experiential learning forum where like-minded businesses leaders from different industries meet to test ideas, challenge each other, investigate opportunities and develop themselves and their businesses.

FLUID Creativity, the Manchester based full service digital agency, has appointed Julie Abbott as business development manager.

She joins the firm from KMP Digitata.
