Lettings latest: operator pitches up at golf academy; concrete firm pours into Trafford Park; and more

BUSNESSMAN Richard Carpenter has signed a ten-year lease to operate the golf academy at Leisure Lakes in Tarleton, Lancashire, which he is renaming The Southport Golf Academy.
The academy was put on the market last month, with Bury-based property consultancy Nolan Redshaw appointed to market the scheme on behalf of its owner.
Carpenter said: “The nine-hole golf course with flood-lit driving range is in a great location and presented a fantastic opportunity for us.
“Throughout 2011 we plan to make ongoing improvements to the academy, in order to offer exceptional teaching and practice facilities for golfers of all ages and abilities.”
Nolan Redshaw director Mike Redshaw said: “This was an unusual site to bring to the market, but we received strong enquiries for the premises from the start. The site’s presence on an established leisure complex was a big attraction to the new operators.”
Nolan Redshaw has now been instructed to market an industrial unit situated at the front of the Leisure Lakes complex.
