Miller picks up McInerney sites

MILLER Group has won a management contract to develop out 10 sites worth around £100m which previously belonged to collapsed Irish housebuilder McInerney Group.
The firm won the contract from Ludgate Hill Developments – a trading arm of the McInerney Group which has been kept solvent to realise cash from stalled McInerney projects to maximise returns to creditors.
The sites are spread across the north of England and include four schemes in the North West – Beaumont Grange in Warrington, Catreffle in Wrexham, Bispham Hall at Billinge near Wigan and the Zest scheme at Newton Heath in Manchester.
Miller Group said that the sites will now be rebranded and incorporated into the Miller Homes business. A number of employees from Ludgate Hill will also transfer to Miller Homes.
Miller Group won a series of similar contracts last year worth £120m which included a deal to manage out the residential element of Bury’s The Rock scheme and the redevelopment of nine former Thomas Mitchell Homes sites in Scotland.
Keith Miller, chief executive of The Miller Group, said: “We are delighted to have been awarded the management contract for Ludgate Hill Developments following the competitive bidding process.
“It is particularly pleasing to add another management contract to those previously awarded, all of which are now successfully integrated into the Miller Homes portfolio.
“We are building up a significant capability in integrating and managing residential assets for our banking partners and see this as an important future revenue and profit stream for Miller Homes.”
