Unicom profits hit £11m in tenth year trading
UNICOM, the Northenden-based telecoms provider, has announced a 7% increase in sales and a 14.3% rise in pre-tax profits in its tenth year of trading.

UNICOM, the Northenden-based telecoms provider, has announced a 7% increase in sales and a 14.3% rise in pre-tax profits in its tenth year of trading.

The business-to-business provider saw turnover increase to £44.5m for the year to the end of April 2009, with pre-tax profits up to £11.2m from £9.8m.

Chris Earle, Unicom’s operations director, said the company was expecting strong growth again this year with turnover forecast to reach £48m and profits expected to hit £12m.

He said: “Our customer retention levels remain the highest in the telecoms industry at around 86%, and of those with whom we do part company, only a third go to competitors – the remainder are either retiring, closing or moving premises.”
