Liverpool pays dividends for Simarco

AN Essex-based freight transport business says that an office opened in Liverpool four years ago has already become its principle hub for Ocean Services.
Simarco said that the amount of sea and air freight handled by the office within the past 12 months has increased by 25%, contributing to the company’s record turnover figures of £22m.
Managing director Simon Reed said: “The last year has reinforced the commercial and geographical advantages which our office in the city represents. The number of containers we import and export both by sea and air on behalf of clients through Liverpool has increased.”
He added that two new members of staff had been appointed in the past 12 months and said it plans to take on more staff by the end of its financial year.
The firm currently employs 110 people at four sites – Liverpool, Manchester, Wellingborough and its headquarters at Witham in Essex.
