Bodycote agrees 10-year deal with Roll-Royce

BODYCOTE, the global engineering company specialising in thermal processing of metals, has renewed an agreement to supply Rolls-Royce for a further 10 years.

The new contract involves direct support for Rolls-Royce from Bodycote’s facility at Rolls-Royce Precision Casting’s base in Derby and five other locations.

The Macclesfield firm will supply Rolls-Royce with heat treatment, hot isostatic pressing, thermal spray coatings and metal joining. These treatments are essential in aerospace manufacturing as they strengthen metals and alloys.

The agreement, which will be unveiled today at the 49th Paris Air Show, also provides a framework for Rolls-Royce and Bodycote to extend their partnership in other parts of the world, including North America and Asia.

Rolls-Royce signed its first key supplier agreement with Bodycote in the early 1980s. In the late 1990s, Bodycote became the first subcontractor to establish operations within the boundaries of any Rolls-Royce facility.
