Ortmans "thrilled" to bring Entrepreneurship congress to Liverpool

THE head of the US-based Global Entreprenenurship Congresss said he was “thrilled” to bring the event to Liverpool next year for its first event in Europe.

Speaking at a Downtown Liverpool in Business event yesterday, The Kauffman Foundation’s policy advisor Jonathan Ortmans said that the five-day event would play well in a city like Liverpool. The five-day event will take place in March 2012 at the city’s arena and convention centre at King’s Dock. It will bring in 500 visitors from over 100 countries.

Frank McKenna, chairman of Downtown Liverpool in Business, said: “The Liverpool city region is blessed with a wealth of entrepreneurs and offers a natural home for an event such as this. We are the first city in Europe to have this privilege and I’m sure that Liverpool’s business community will do all they can to maximise the opportunities that it will provide.

“As anyone attending today’s event will testify, there is an entrepreneurial buzz and a real appetite for growth in this city, which I think has been picked up on by Jonathan and his colleagues.”
