ACE office space is unveiled in Pendle

A NEW enterprise centre has been opened at the ACE Centre in Nelson with grant funding support available to help with costs for some tenants.

The Enterprise Centre within ACE has 32 managed workspaces, with some boasting views of Pendle Hill and the Pennine moors.

Grant funding from Pennine Lancashire’s No Limits programme means that some tenants could benefit from large rent reductions.

The funding is available to new business or existing businesses that could benefit from reducing their costs, in the current tough climate. The grants give significant reductions for an initial two year period against rent, rates, power, light and heating.

Councillor Allan Buck, who has responsibility for economic development at Pendle Council, said: “For example, a four person starter office on a fully inclusive basis could cost only £100 per week.”

Suites range in size from 350sq ft to 1500sq ft and are offered furnished, together with phone and broadband connection.

The Entrprise Centre is managed by Bolton-based Hamill Investments on behalf of Pendle Enterprise and Regeneration Ltd (PEARL), a partnership between Pendle Council and Barnfield Construction Limited.

Hamill’s Commercial Director Simon Neill said: “We believe businesses will be blown away by the proposition here at the Enterprise Centre.

“Interest has been huge with 10 out of 32 suites already occupied or under offer.”
He added: “Tenants can also benefit from relaxed lease arrangements. This means entrepreneurs can take the step into their first offices without fear of a heavy commitment around their necks.”

The centre was funded by the Northwest Regional Development Agency (NWDA), via Pendle Partnership, and the No Limits programme which supports enterprise across Pennine Lancashire.
