Co-op funds Homes4U deal

THE Co-operative Bank’s corporate banking centre in Manchester has funded estate agency Homes4U’s acquisition of Altrincham-based Verve Lettings.
The deal was completed last month and allowed Homes4U to open its fifth branch.
The firm, which already has two branches in Withington, one in Chorlton and one at Oxford Road in Manchester, is owned by Carolyn Mellor. It was founded in 1990 and currently has 50 members of staff and a turnover of £1.9m.
Carolyn Mellor said: “At a time when confidence in banking institutions is at an all time low, it is great to work with a bank with a history of social responsibility.
“Partnering with the banking arm of the company reflected homes4u’s business goals, in terms of working with local businesses, and adopting a clear and honest approach to the customer base.”
Stephen McKeag, corporate manager at The Co-operative Bank, said: “homes4u is a growing business which has thrived during the recession and the Bank has been able to respond favourably to new opportunities as they have arisen.”
