Online plumbing firm sees sales top £10m

AN online supplier of plumbing and heating parts has announced growth of 51% with sales topping £10m for the first time.

Wirral-based PlumbNation, a business founded just four years ago, is now hiring more staff and taking more space at its base in Bromborough.
 
Turnover in the last financial year rose to £11.2m from £7.4m in 2009/10.

Founder Royden Evans is expecting the business to grow further, with staff number rising from 14 to 20 in the next 18 months. 

“We have some really exciting plans for continued expansion during the next 12 months. We now have a dedicated product development team in place which will enable us to further significantly scale up our offering to customers.

“Our product count is set to explode as we enter a number of new and exciting supplier arrangements in the coming months.

“We have a reputation within the industry for innovation and leading the way in terms of harnessing good technology which will appeal to customers, allowing them to find the most appropriate products for their homes as quickly and conveniently as possible.”

PlumbNation sells everything from kitchen sinks and taps to boilers and bathroom suites. Last year site visitor numbers almost doubled from 722,000 to 1.4m.
