Tech firm relocates HQ to Manchester

NorthEdge-backed technology business Pimberly, which specialises in product information platforms, has relocated its headquarters to Manchester.

The business, formerly based in Knutsford, has relocated to St James’s Tower in Manchester as it eyes further growth.

The company currently has 15 staff based in Manchester, and the company has plans to double its headcount in 2017 across its marketing, business development and software development divisions. It currently turns over £1m.

Pimberly counts retailers, distributors, suppliers and manufacturers as customers, providing an SaaS platform for product data across multiple channels and regions.

Industry giants SAP and Oracle are competitors of Pimberly, which is part of the £95m-turnover Jigsaw24 Group and backed by NorthEdge Capital.

Group CEO of Jigsaw24, Martin Balaam said: “Manchester is a great place to be an early stage tech company, with a growing local economy, significant inward investment and a buzz surrounding initiatives such as Tech North and the Northern Powerhouse.

“We have an opportunity to create a world class SaaS solution right here in the north of England. To do this we need to recruit the best people to meet our ambitious growth targets, both in the UK and internationally. Manchester is bursting with talent so it’s the obvious place to be.

“The region also has some of the UK’s most exciting retailers, distributors and manufacturers and we want to be right at the heart of that community.”
