The House Crowd celebrates £40m of capital raised since launch

Hale, Greater Manchester-based property crowdfunding platform The House Crowd is celebrating five years of growth, having raised more than £40m in capital since its 2012 launch.

The House Crowd was the world’s first property crowdfunding platform, and now serves upwards of 15,000 investors who have received in excess of £7.1m in returns.

To mark its fifth birthday, The House Crowd has been investing in the next stage of business growth.

This includes publishing its first book on how people can build their wealth through property crowdfunding, including tips on spotting a great investment opportunity.

It is also hiring its first chief technology officer, chief marketing officer and new business development managers, taking its staff count to 20.

The company is also funding its own multi-million pound.  The House Crowd has evolved from buying £50,000 terraced houses to offering a range of investment products, from equity crowdfunding to peer 2 peer lending.

It is also introducing a specialist bridging finance service, including the planned launch of HC finance and HC investments websites.

“Despite having to fight through reams of red tape to make it happen, property crowdfunding is already worth £700m a year in the UK with numerous other platforms having followed in our footsteps.

The House Crowd is a property crowdfunding platform that enables people to invest in property for as little as £1,000. Crowdfunding allows investors to pool resources with other like-minded investors, spreading risk over multiple projects and investment types.
