AIM-listed company Accrol Group Holdings has agreed to lease 368,400 sq ft of industrial space at Orbit Development’s distribution warehouse scheme, M58 Distribution Centre in Skelmersdale, West Lancashire

Blackburn-basec Accrol is an independent manufacturer of both branded and private label tissue products with ranges including toilet, kitchen and facial tissues.

It manufactures more than 18 million units per week and supplies some of the UK’s largest retailers, including Aldi, Lidl, Tesco, Morrisons and wholesale chain Booker.

The newl-refurbished warehousing facility at Skelmersdale was strategically selected for its immediate road links to the M58 and close connection to the M6 motorway, which aids the transport of goods nationwide.

The new warehousing will house finished goods and provide central distribution facilities to all UK customers, allowing Accrol to simplify and consolidate its existing warehouse facilities into a more effective supply chain solution. Warehouse management and national distribution logistics will be outsourced to NFT.

Accrol made its debut on London’s AIM market in June 2016 and the business has continued its successful expansion.

In April 2017, Accrol opened its new 168,000sq ft manufacturing facility in Leyland, Lancashire, increasing the company’s total converting capacity to 143,000 tonnes per annum and positioning the business for future growth.

Accrol chief executive Steve Crossley said: “We are delighted to have found such a high-quality facility in an ideal location for Accrol. The significant size of the unit allows us to consolidate and simplify our supply chain and will give us space to grow over the coming years.”

Orbit Developments divisional director for Merseyside, Dennis Dwyer added: “At 368,400 sq ft, this is the most significant industrial letting in the North West in 2017 to date.”

“Skelmersdale is an excellent logistics location with its proximity to the M6 and Port of Liverpool and the letting not only proves this, but also demonstrates the demand in the market for quality industrial premises.”

“We’re pleased to welcome Accrol as a customer within our portfolio and wish them all the best for the future.”

The joint agents for the scheme are CBRE and Knight Frank.
