Homebuilder Anwyl Homes has exchanged contracts on the purchase of about nine acres of land in Prescot, Merseyside, for a new £23m residential development of 122 homes.

Formerly the Prysmian Cable Factory, the site on Carr Lane is the first for the housebuilder’s recently-established Lancashire region and forms part of the wider Prescot Park development that will eventually comprise around 750 new homes and open space.

After agreeing the purchase with Prescot Business Parks, Anwyl will transform the site with a mix of two storey three and four bedroom semi-detached and detached properties, set in a sensitively landscaped setting.

Boasting a location close to Prescot town centre and offering easy access to the M67, M62 and M58 motorways, the residential development will appeal to a wide range of purchasers looking for a stylish and high quality new home that is conveniently placed for commuting while enjoying the best aspects of family life offered locally.

Manging director of Anwyl Homes Lancashire John Grime said: “The plans for the development are really exciting and we are confident that our first venture in the area will be well received.

“Prescot is a fantastic location to live, providing many facilities as well as having excellent communication being accessible to the nearby motorway network and wider thriving Liverpool area.”

Andrew Littler, from Andrew Littler Associates, the agent acting for Prescot Park, rsaid: “This is an exciting major new residential development situated within walking distance of Prescot’s many amenities, including Cables Retail Park and Prescot town centre.

“The sale of this parcel to Anwyl Homes forms part of a number of disposals that taken together will transform the site and form a new and vibrant community.  We very much look forward to construction starting on the new homes and the first residents moving in.”

Construction is expected to commence in early 2018, with the development taking around four years to complete.
