The public is to get a second bite the cherry to see revised plans for the £200m St Michael’s scheme at Jackson’s Row in Manchester city centre.

The St Michael’s Partnership in which former Manchester United stars Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs are key members has organised another consultation following the first one in July.

St Michael’s said the initial meeting prompted a “positive response” with the perseveration of Bootle Street Police Station and the Sir Ralph Abercromby pub – dating back to the Peterloo Massacre in 1819 – welcomed by the majority of respondents.

The scheme was redesigned and amended in response to feedback from the public and key stakeholders.

The second consultation – on Wednesday, August 23 at the Grand Hall, Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester, from 11am to 7pm – will provide people with an opportunity to view the latest designs for the project including further detail on the facades and treatments of the commercial, residential and hotel.

The exhibition will also reveal the intention around the design and animation of the outdoor spaces.
The event forms part of an ongoing consultation process, which will continue until the final plans are submitted in a planning application to Manchester City Council in the autumn.

Gary Neville, on behalf of The St Michael’s Partnership, said: “We were extremely encouraged by the positive response following our last consultation held in July.

“We’re more committed than ever to ensuring that St. Michael’s will become a world-class development recognised for its quality in design and highest quality of service, and we look forward to presenting our plans later this month.”
