Line-up announced for Liverpool Comedy Festival

A stellar line-up has been announced for this year’s Liverpool Comedy Festival.

Now in its 16th year, this year’s festival is the biggest line-up yet and 150 shows are set to take place across 18 venues.

This year’s line-up includes Micky Flanagan, Gavin and Stacey favourite Rob Brydon and The Inbetweeners’ Greg Davies. Mock The Week’s Milton Jones is also set to take to the stage, as well as prankster Joe Lycett and Jerry Sadowitz.

The festival will also feature a whole host of national and local comedic talent, including Liverpool’s Stan Boardman and Adam Rowe, as well as Wirral’s Callum Oakley.

This year, the Festival has teamed up with the talent behind the Hot Water Comedy Club who have programmed over 70 shows during the festival featuring headliners, TV names, comedy battles, Gong Shows and new act nights in their brand new purpose built comedy club on Seel Street in the city centre.

They are also joining forces with On The Verge, a festival dedicated to supporting artists and showcasing provocative new work, to co-mentor and programme Steffi Sweeney’s Karaoke Tales, taking place on September 27, which will take the audience inside a karaoke bar for a night of stories, songs and questionable vocals.

The Comedy Trust will also be teaming up with the Liverpool Mental Health Festival for a second year running with their “Still Feeling Funny Show”.

The event will showcase The Comedy Trust’s latest alumni from their mental health and wellbeing “Feeling Funny” stand-up comedy course that engages Men across Liverpool and Sefton enabling them to improve their mental health and wellbeing whilst working to eradicate the stigma that surrounds men’s mental health.

The festival is set to take place at a whole host of venues, including Echo Arena, Empire Theatre, Liverpool Philharmonic, The Jacaranda and many more.

Liverpool Comedy Festival takes place from September 15 until October 1.
