Law firm Pannone Corporate is looking to expand its corporate team after advising on deals worth almost £300m in the first half of this year.

The team has completed around 30 deals in 2017 for new and existing clients across the UK with many transactions based in the North West.

Deals include advising on its $20m acquisition of Nasty Gal and acting for the shareholders of PrettyLittleThing when the online retailer purchased a majority stake in the business for £3.3m.

Elsewhere, the team advised historic Manchester biscuit maker Hill Biscuits on a management buyout backed by private equity investor LDC, and Maven Capital on its maiden investment from the Northern Powerhouse Investment Fund into Aberla Services.

The 10-strong corporate team has expanded since Pannone Corporate was launched in 2014 and it is now looking to grow again to meet demand.

Corporate partner Mark Winthorpe said “The corporate team has had a record year for transactions, completing many deals across the UK. However, it is particularly pleasing to have acted for so many North West based companies across a wide range of sectors. Our team’s success reflects a wider North West business success story.

“We have a very strong pipeline of deals taking us well into the autumn and we are looking to add to the team to help us service demand.”
