Developer to build 119 new homes in Wigan area

Bellway Homes has acquired more than 12 acres of land off Pocket Nook in Lowton near Wigan for a new residential development.

The new development will be known as Pocket Green, featuring 119 new build homes.

Bellway will deliver a mix of three and four-bedroom properties, including both semi-detached and detached homes.

Pocket Green is in a popular residential location within the suburban village of Lowton, just two miles from Leigh.

It is ideally placed for commuters with the A580, M60 and M6 all within close proximity to Wigan, Warrington, Manchester and Liverpool.

Forming a focal point at the centre of the development will be a large green open space, highlighting its semi-rural setting and enhancing its appeal with local homebuyers.

Louise Chamberlain, sales director at Bellway Homes, said: “The plans for Pocket Green are superb; it promises to be a stunning residential development. In addition to the new residential development, Bellway Homes will make a significant financial contribution to the local community, including £752,675 towards local infrastructure.

here are 20 affordable units, which will be sold under the local authority equity loan scheme, and a further 10 units to be sold to a housing association for affordable rent.

Groundworks at Pocket Green are already underway with a sales launch scheduled in the spring.
