CERT buys former Unite HQ for £1.5m

The Junction

Manchester-based CERT Property has completed the acquisition of a 15,000sq ft office building in Salford Quays for about £1.5m.

The building which independent property and investment company CERT has been renamed The Junction, was the former home of Unite the union.

The company immediately implemented a comprehensive refurbishment of the building to provide high-quality office accommodation, with suites available from 150sq ft to whole floors at 3,000sq ft.

Howard Lord, managing director of CERT, said: “This is an important acquisition for us as it fits perfectly within our strategy to create a new way of flexible working. As the working world continues to evolve, we have recognised the growing demand for adaptable and serviced office accommodation and one of main aims for this year is to deliver a number of new office solutions across the north of England.”

“We are already in serious talks with several potential occupiers and are confident that we will be able to announce our first deal in the next few days.”

The property was being marketed by Cushman and Wakefield.
B1 Real Estate has been retained as the sole letting agents.
