Jonathan Shaw, the managing director of property and construction consultancy Anderton Cables, has been appointed to the RICS Dilapidations Forum Steering Group.

Shaw, who founded Anderton Cables in 2007, and has more than 25 years’ experience working in the property industry is one of nine members of steering group, which is made up of surveyors and lawyers. He is the only North West-based surveyor to join the national group.

Anderton Gables is an independent property consultancy with offices in Preston, Manchester and most recently, Sheffield employing more than 20 people.

Shaw said: “Having been involved in a number of high profile and complex dilapidations cases over the years, including one that recently went to trial I was keen to be part of this group. I am very honoured to have been given the opportunity to be part of this important steering group that will play a pivotal role in influencing the way in which future dilapidations claims are dealt with.”
