Green light for huge industrial units at MA6NITUDE

DBS Pochin, the joint venture partnership between db symmetry and Pochin’s, has received planning approval from Cheshire East Council to build 190,000 sq ft of industrial and distribution accommodation at its flagship logistics park, MA6NITUDE.

The proposed development, put forward by DBS Pochin in partnership with How Planning and AEW Architects, is one of a limited number of large speculative schemes currently being progressed in Cheshire.

It will comprise two single occupancy units of 149,000 and 41,000 sq ft on Plot 1A.

The new occupiers will join the likes of Wincanton, B&M Retail and Scottish Power Energy Networks already utilising the park as a hub for servicing Northern operations.

MA6NITUDE director Dan Burn said: “With the approval of this scheme, we’re in a position to meet two key areas of demand in the market. The larger unit will cater for the wider regional logistics market, while the smaller unit will meet localised demand – and we’re already having strong conversations on both fronts.”

The JV has evolved its plans for the first phase of development on the 1.75 million sq ft site, following confirmation of Government funding for the Middlewich Bypass which the JV welcomed.

Burn added: “With the site’s exceptional links to both national transport infrastructure and the North’s key regions, this development is an exciting prospect for logistics and distribution businesses looking for an accessible base in the region.”

Savills, B8RE and Legat Owen are the retained agents on the scheme.
